HAPPY BIRTHDAY CODY!!

We had a layed back kind of Party for Cody's Birthday. We had it at Granny, Pappy and Kami's house. Nannie came to celebrate with us as well. We had a good time. This year we didn't buy a cake because Cody really doesn't like that kind of cake. So we had his favorite food. Zebra cakes, white ice cream, with chocolate and strawberry milk. It was a great party. Cody got some great gifts:
Nannie got Cody a new memory card for his playstation2 and a Sonic the hedgehog unleshed book.
Hunter helped pick out a new game for Cody: The newest StarWars game.
Granny and Pappy gave him $20.00 and when asked what he was going to get with his money, he turned and said,"What ever I want!" We laughed- He was really cute about the whole thing.
Hal and I got him some Heelys- Shoes with a wheel in the heel. He needs to practice a little, but he will get the hang of it soon!

The Pinewood Derby- 2009

Not long after we were home from vacation in Georgia, we had to get ready for the pinewood derby. It was to be held in Bay city and this was Hunter's first time to go and race a car. This was Cody's last time to go as he will be 11yrs. old soon and will go from cub scouts to boy scouts. Lucky for us, Hal was off from work and we went as a family. Both the boys had a blast. At one point in the race Hunter's car came in second and the other car was already at the finishing line. Well this didn't bother Hunter. He just grabbed his car before it was at the finish line and ran back to start over for the second round. He was so happy and we just laughed and smiled and cheered him on. The boys had hog dogs for dinner that night, and the boys love them. I don't know if they loved the racing or the hot dogs more. Maybe they both tied for 1st place. Pictures from our Ga. Christmas Vacation

We had a great time this Christmas holiday in Chickamauga Ga. James, Cari and kids were there, as well as all the Shields that live in Chickamauga (Pam, Nanna, Devin, Colin, Becky, Darren and there kids.) There were two new babies in the family this year that Hal and I got to see and hold for the FIRST time. (Katie and Issac) We fell in love with both of them, as soon as we saw them. It was very hard to say good- bye to them. We had to also say good-bye to Colin as he left to join boot camp with the Army. On a happier note, Hal got to stand in the circle for the blessing of Issac. It was done at Pam's house. Darren did great- as he has not been a member of the church very long. I think he was a little nerves, But it turned out perfectly. If you go to Becky's blog she has a great picture of the blessing its self. The men posed for the picture after the blessing was over. I wished that I had had a picture like that of Hal and the boys. As you will see in the pictures below, Cari and I went shopping and got matching clothes. Pam went as well and we all had a great time together. Cari was given the title of my Personal Shopper! She was great at it, I came home looking like a million dollars. I told Hal that I have got to meet up with Cari in the Spring, Summer and Fall to finish my wardrobe. Cari and I had a great time siting on the couch and having heart to heart chats about love, life and everything in between. I love her to death.
Cody and Hunter had a great time with there cousins Logan, Tyler, Hillary. They all played hard with each other. Cody loved holding the new babies in the family and wished we had a baby boy of our own. We really tried to enjoy each other to the fullest. Oh! on the way home to Texas we stoped off and got gas and Cody found the biggest Zebra Cake ever. Cody loves Zebra Cakes!!
