The newest member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

Hunter Monney Shields was Baptized on his 9Th Birthday this year. For those of you that don't know when that was, it was April 22, 2009. It was short and to the point as Hunter can only pay attention for so long. The spirit was as Strong as it could ever be at a Baptism. We had as many Monney family members as we could pack in the small primary room as well as some special friends of ours from Hal's work at the hospital. When it was time for Hunter and Hal to go around to the entry of the font, Hunter looked up at Hal and said, "Daddy time to go to work." Hunter said that of coarse because Hal had his white scrubs on that he wears to work at the hospital. We all laughed a little because we new what he meant. Hal just looked down at Hunter and said, "Yes, we have to do some work now." and... what special work they were going to be doing. (doing together) Then the children gathered around at the edge of the font in the front and watched as Hunter was Baptized. As Hunter was lifted out of the water he wiped his eyes and said, "Oh Thank You!" Did he say it to Hal or to our Lord, Jesus Christ? I believe both and the Power of the Lord was strong as we wiped the tears from our eyes. After the boys got dressed back into there Sunday best, the Prayers were said and Hunter received the Holy Ghost. During the prayer that Hal was saying for Hunter, Hunter in a small voice would start to repeat the very words Hal was blessing him with. Maybe they were blessing each other. It was beautiful. I'm so thankful for my family and for my little Hunter.

Spring Break- 2009 Houston

We went to Houston with some friends for two days. We had a blast at the Houston Aquarium, NASA, Hard Rock Cafe', and TGI-Fridays. It was really fun for all of us. I hadn't been to NASA since I was little and let me tell you this... NASA is very Different. We got to watch a satellite pictures of the Astronauts that are in space right now working on the new space station. It was not a pre-recorded show, It was right then at that time. We also got to see the men at Mission Control talking to the Astronauts. VERY VERY COOL!! We got to go on a Bus ride to a Highly Secure area 20Min's away from the park and got to see the worlds largest pool that the Astronauts trained in to learn to work in a weightless environment. The pool was 44 stories deep. That was cool because there were guys training when we got there. They have to wear there full Space suits in the water. Then when we got back from that they had a five story play gym with a slide from the top to bottom of it and it had lots of tunnels to climb in and more slides. Hear are some pictures.

Cody's First Science Project

Cody is in Fourth Grade this year and this was his first time to do a Science project in school. It was called "Celery Highways". It's were you can see how water goes thru the plant to help make it grow. You use two different dies in jars so you can see the veins in the plant. This is also done with any white flower. We did it with Celery because it's Cody's favorite vegetable to eat. See for yourself.

Scout Awards of 2009 - Hunters 1st

These are really late to put up on the blog but I have a good reason?! Let me Explain... This was Hunter's first Cub Scout Award Ceremony. It was really Special for more than one reason. They had what was called the Eagle's Nest and all Eagle Scout's were to line up and shake the Cub Scouts hand after they received there awards. So we had Hal and my brother Chad, My nephew Nathan which is my oldest brother Shayne's son, and my cousin Shilo, along with other men in the church. I had got some GREAT Pictures of the whole thing. So the next day I went to print them off at the Photo- in H.E.B. So I put my Camera's memory card in the machine to print. The computer screen comes on and says........... You have ZERO Pictures?????? Well I tried it again and again and again...NO LUCK. I went home crying and very MAD. This had happened many other times before, because there was something wrong with my camera. Long story Short... Hal had to by me a new Camera the next day. My cousin Kim is the Cub Scout leader and got some go pictures and gave me a copy. So I would like to share with you those pictures.

We can't forget about Nannie being there on that Wonderful Evening. We LOVE our Nannie!!
